North Yorkshire Humanist Group

What is Humanism?

[From British Humanist Association Website] "Humanism is the belief that we can live good lives without religious or superstitious beliefs. Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values. We seek to make the best of the one life we have by creating meaning and purpose for ourselves. We take responsibility for our actions and work with others for the common good"

Who are we and what do we do?

The North Yorkshire Humanist Group was set-up in January 2005. We meet regularly to discuss issues of interest to humanists and support national and local campaigns that are relevant to humanists. Visitors and members come from all over Yorkshire (and beyond). The Group continues to grow and expand it's activities.
